Botany Downs Secondary College is a co-educational state school located in East Tamaki, Auckland, New Zealand. It serves students from Years 9 to 13 and was established in 2004. The college focuses on innovative and personalized learning within a multicultural environment, promoting both academic and personal development with modern facilities.
Their college is built around a Whānau (pronounced far-no), or House system. It means that every Botany student will belong to one of our six houses. Each house has around three hundred students and is designed to make you feel like you are a part of a small school within the larger school. Each Whānau has students from Year 9 through to Year 13 and over the duration of your stay, your Whānau should start to feel like an extended family of teachers and students. This is where you will have a locker, kitchen facilities for making your lunch, computers, photocopying facilities and somewhere to relax and socialise with other international and New Zealand students.
They are a Microsoft Pathfinder school, and a Microsoft Mentor school. They have Wi-fi inside and outside the school so that you can access the internet, and intranet using our high-speed fibre optic broadband. All students need to bring a laptop with them when they come to study here so that you can access the learning resources that teachers provide.
